CISK encourages students to become leaders and as a part of it, the students of Grade 10 have come with this concept of organizing a quiz for students by students in subjects like math and science. A set of enthusiastic and interested students have planned and organized the preliminary quiz on the topics and selected students from grades 7-10. They have worked as a team and planned the entire programme without disturbing their daily academic routine. This is what the real education is and the students have so beautifully planned the innovative rounds in the quiz like Buzzle Puzzle, how did kattappa die? and Back to school! The participants and the staff thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Workshop was on How Thousands of Children in Pune Prevented Over 50 Tonnes of Plastic from Reaching the Sea and how teachers can create awareness among students about the same. A unique Pune-based initiative, Sagar Mitra Abhiyan an NGO to save the oceans by recycling the plastic hopes to change the thought of most people who still aren’t convinced of the link between carelessly discarding a water bottle and damage in the seas, by creating a cultural shift in public perceptions and behaviour concerning plastic pollution. Under the programme, school children in Pune have been collecting plastic items from their homes for safe disposal, assisted by their teachers and community workers.

Life skills are the most important skills in life which help us to be successful in living a productive life. They help students improve their personal and social qualities. To inculcate this important aspect in students, the teachers are empowered with the concept during the professional development week. The sessions included Perspective building in Life skills, Transacting Life Skills, Familiarization with Life Skills through activities and assessment for the same. This is a CBSE one day capacity building programme for teachers so that this can be brought down to students also as it is the need of the time.
